May 2012 - Heading to the Majors
Heading to the majors sort of speak, JD is off to Minneapolis, MN to perform the Canadian National Anthem during the Jays vs Twins game at Target Field on May 13.
"I have always been a fan of baseball, played it my whole life growing up. I was a pitcher and dreamed about pitching in the majors but eventually had no league around home to play in so I had to resort to lob ball. I remember watching a lot of the Jays games with my granddad and that was our thing we had. I have never been to a major league game ever so when I was asked to sing the national anthem that was incredible but I was just as excited about knowing that I was going to see my very first live MLB game. To top it off, it is a Jays game, my favorite team. So I will be dedicating this whole experiance to my granddad. I know he'll be there with me. "
March 2012 - Getting Back On Track With A Brand New Single - Sweet Ride
After taking a bit of a break from music, JD has returned refreshed and ready to return the crazy pace of the music buisness. After the release of his previous album "Satisfied " JD toured and promoted the album extensively, and was overwhelmed with the response he had recieved from it.
" It gets hard to juggle your career, home life, and your hobbies plus preparing for your future as a whole, and I didn't realize this untill everything seemed to be getting out of control so I decided to step back and take a moment to put everything into perspective. There are always a lot of things that should be hire up on the priority list and that is what I had to get back in order. Family first and their well being. Then getting my future plans to be an electrician and finish my apprentiship, which I am still in the progress of doing, then my career as a recording artist. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to keep this in order but when you break each aspect down you end up with a lot on your plate and there are only so many hours in a day"
However, JD did find time ime during his time off to still write and search for new songs for his new album. His soon to be released single "Sweet Ride" has already caused a stir in the industry and will not be released until March 19th, 2012. Written by Jason Blaine, Deric Ruttan and Margaret Ruttan, "Sweet Ride" was pitched to JD to use on his next album.
" I couldn't believe it when Jason sent me the demo. At first I thought he may have sent it by accident. It was such an awesome tune and the riffs and beat, it was jsut a terrific sounding song and I had it for my new album. Holy $#!%. Sometimes I still can't believe it. I still get the same excited feeling now when I listen to our new version that my producer Steve Fox amd I put together that I got when I first heard the demo."
If "Sweet Ride" is a sign of what is to come then JD's new album is sure to be great follow up to JD's previous album "Satisfied" So keep your radio tuned into your favorite country station and be sure to request JD's brand new single "Sweet Ride" It will also be made available on iTunes.
